Cimmaron's Gold Standard of Marsport, also known as "Nugget," is just starting her career in the conformation ring. In her second weekend out, at age 14 months, she took a three-point major in Sedalia (Jefferson City Kennel Club). Nugget is owned by Karen Booker.

Phil Marriott, Stover, Mo. MOBC member and his dog CHESTER DARK TRAVELER claimed 2nd place in the 40 dog Bird Dog Challenge NATIONALS held in Iowa in March 2010.

Competing dogs were from IA, NY, MI, KS, MT, IL, SD, NJ, NV & MO and had to be Regional winners to be invited to the National runoff.

Chester is 6 year old son of NFC/FC/AFC 11x American Field Champion Shambo's Dark Shadow, owned by MOBC member Bernie Crain. Shadow is the All-time winningest Brittany in the history of the breed with 44 winning placements in ONE hour stakes.

Chester finished 3rd in 2009 Nationals of Bird Dog Challenge.

It's that time of year where the athletes of the NFL head off to training camp to start getting in shape for the physical demands of football season. If you are an upland bird hunter, you too should be spending less time on the couch and more time getting ready for the hunt. Upland bird hunting requires a lot of walking, and usually through some unforgiving terrain. Waist-high CRP, shin-deep sloughs, and rolling hills make for a vigorous workout that you should be prepared for in order to get the most out of your hunt. Your dog also needs to be in top shape to have the stamina to bust the brush and retrieve your birds throughout the hunt.
